Canadian native, Whitney Lyons was born in Vancouver, British Columbia and recently moved to Los Angeles, California in pursuit of her ultimate dream of acting professionally. Whitney studied Theatre at the University of Southern California and recently graduated with her BA in acting and, a wealth of experiences to prepare her for her next step in forwarding her career.
While at USC Whitney continued her training for the stage and camera which in turn fueled her passion to pursue her acting career. As part of her degree program in 2012, Whitney also had the privilege of studying under accomplished actor's such as Fiona Shaw, in London England at the British American Drama Academy. The courses that she attended in London are invaluable to her training as an actor.
Before she left for Los Angeles Whitney was actively pursuing her acting career. During high school she participated in the acting program and organized theatre sports programs for the younger students. She played several lead roles in High school and received the Senior Acting Award for two years. Outside of school, she was fully involved with 14 years of competitive dance training and a musical theatre group. During her high school years she was also actively involved in competitive ski racing and ski instruction. As her acting career became center stage she moved away from skiing to concentrate on her acting and dance.
Whitney first started on the stage, but after being introduced to film, she realized her passion was strongest for acting for the camera. While in Vancouver she studied under Ingrid Torrance, Aaron Carven and Bart Anderson who all three opened her eyes to acting for the camera.
Whitney just recently graduate from USC and has acquired a US Visa which will allow her to pursue acting in the United States, as well as her home country of Canada.
